The second leg of the Champions League last 16 fixture is still awaiting a venue as UEFA will decide between Camp Nou and Portugal
The fixtures for what remains of the 2019/20 Champions League have been announced. Barça will return to European action on 7 or 8 August with the second leg of their last 16 tie against Napoli. UEFA are still to decide whether the game will be played at Camp Nou or at a neutral venue in Portugal, Porto or Guimaraes emerging as options. The tie stands at 1-1 after the draw in the first leg between the two sides in Naples back on 25 February.
The second leg, Barça v Napoli, was originally scheduled for 18 March behind closed doors but the game was eventually postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.
As such Quique Setién's team will have three weeks between the end of the league season, the final game against Alavés will take place on 18/19 July, and the return of the Champions League.
On Wednesday UEFA announced in a press conference following a meeting of its Executive Committee that the quarter finals, semi finals and final would all be played over one leg between 12-23 August in Lisbon, Portugal.
Once the last 16 ties have been decided the quarter finals will take place on 12-15 August, the semi finals on 18/19 August and the final on Sunday 23 August.
Further, it has also been confirmed that the group stage of the 2020/21 Champions League will begin on October 20/21 and end on December 8/9. The final will be played at the venue that should have hosted this season's Champions League final, the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
